Class Experience

This FLEX course is designed for young artists who are looking to start their creative journey! It will provide a solid foundation for learners by starting with basic techniques that they will be able to apply to all their future creations. This course is for beginners, so no prior drawing experience is required!

In this FLEX course learners will learn how to draw the elements of a face. Each week will focus on a different facial feature. I will provide weekly pre-recorded videos, which will allow learners to follow along at their own pace. Each young artist will be encouraged to share their work in the classroom, or send it directly to me for encouragement and feedback.

Weekly videos will be approximately 30 minutes long, occasionally longer. Artists should spend at least an hour working on their homework per week.

Week 1 - Learn the dimensions of a face
Week 2 - Learn to draw eyes
Week 3 - Learn to draw a nose and mouth
Week 4 - Learn to draw hair
Week 5 - Learn how to add shadows and highlights
Week 6 - Adding color to your portrait

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to correctly draw the dimensions of a face, as well as each facial feature in detail step by step.
