Beginner - Intermediate Level
Through the guided drawing process, students will learn how to draw the different parts of a dragon, then put them all together to create their own. My teaching style involves breaking the process down into smaller, easy-to-follow steps. I pace the class according to the needs of the students; if needed, I give fast finishers a break, allowing students who need more time to complete their work, the time to do so, and even then, finishing before class ends is NOT the objective. The examples in the picture are only suggestive; students may also request a particular favorite if time allows. My classes are intended to be fun, informative, and a safe place to take artistic risks and make mistakes--that is experimentation, which artists do all the time! At the end of class, students will be invited to share their creations no matter what their progress is. More detailed information regarding this class can be found in the syllabus.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to break down and draw different parts of dragons: head, body, tail, arms and legs, wings, scales, etc.

I LOVE to draw! I love mythical and fantasy creatures, and as an art teacher, I have several years' experience in breaking down what seems like complicated drawing techniques into student-friendly, step-by-step processes, while allowing for and encouraging their own creative ideas to shine through.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
