Class Experience

*Please Note: No prior experience with drawing required; This class will be great for beginner artists as well as artists who are more advanced. All drawings are simplified for all students (each artists can add their own flair to their art as we go along) Every drawing is kid-friendly.

Do you want to learn how to create different art pieces while adding your own personal touch to it? Do you want to join an art club where you get to chat, laugh, and joke around with kids from all around the world? Well, you have come to the right place!

In this ongoing social art club, young artists (just like you!) will be guided, step-by-step, in creating different types of art. You will learn new techniques along the way while also adding your own creative spin to it. You ready to create some magic?!

April 28th (Portrait Drawing)- "Pose for a picture, Zoo Animals!" Students will draw a "polaroid-inspired drawing" where zoo animals are posing side-by-side.
May 5th - (Portrait Drawing) Alien in Space!
May 12th - (Portrait Drawing) Cute Red Panda Lounging on a Tree
May 19th Up-Close and Personal Kitten Abstract Drawing
May 26th- It's an Illusion! (Introducing the world of lines)

****(Updates will come two weeks prior to the beginning of each week)****

Teacher Note:
In this on-going social art club, students will follow guided step-by step instruction from me. Students will have the support of visuals, verbal, and guided modeling to better accommodate their needs. After creating each drawing, students will have the time to color, and add on to, their pictures and then share with the rest of the group. The best part of this club is that students will not only learn how to draw new things, BUT, they will have the creative freedom to add any unique details, colors, patterns, etc. making their art piece their very own.

While drawing, students will be able to engage in conversations based on weekly questions, share interests, experiences and chat about anything that comes to mind. We will have weekly topics, questions and other conversation starters. I like to create a stress-free environments where young arts connect with other children their age, share their interests and passions and create awesome art pieces. We know how important this is, especially during these social distanced times.

Enroll for a relaxed, and fun, environment where students can unwind, draw and color, make new friends and be themselves.

Hello Parents and Students!

My name is Teacher Ileana. Welcome to My Outschool Teaching Space.
Back in 2020, I led many art classes and social clubs aimed towards building unity and community in the Outschool world. As of recent, I am now more focused on academic classes geared toward working with students to build confident readers and writers.

I have been an educator in the Department of Education for more than 8 years. However, I have been working with the youth (aged 3-18 years old) for more than 10 years. I have been an educational assistant, after-school and summer counselor, teacher's assistant, online ENL teacher and now a certified K-12 TESOL certified educator.
I tutor students in reading, math and writing online through other platforms as well.

I work hard to build positive relationships with students. In every class I focus on being personable, allowing opportunities for all students to be their authentic self and build their confidence.

In my class, students feel comfortable coming as they are, learning something new and leaving with a sense of confidence they should always strive for.

I look forward to seeing your young learner in my classroom.
