In this multi-day (6 days) course, young artists will learn how to draw mythical creatures while engaging in conversation about what they know about each one and have learned.

No prior experience with drawing required; All drawings are simplified for young artists (each artists can add their own flair to their art as we go along) Calling all young artists! Are you ready to learn how to draw: Vampires, Goblins, Unicorns, Mermaids, Zombies, Frankenstein, Bigfoot, dragons, and even a Phoenix? Spread the word and join me in class! Class 1: Fairy and a Unicorn Class 2: Vampire and a Dragon Class 3: Bigfoot and a WereWolf Class 4: Goblins and a Cyclops Class 5: Frankenstein and a Phoenix. Class 6: Mermaid and the loch ness monster In this course, young artists will learn how to draw 12 different mythical characters/creatures by following directed step-by-step instruction from me. Students will learn fun facts about each new character/creature and have the opportunity to engage in conversation about what they may already know. Students will have the support of visuals, verbal instruction and guided modeling to better accommodate their needs. After creating each drawing, students will have the time to color, and add on to, their pictures and then share with the rest of the group. Each of my art classes are paced to each students' needs. I check-in with each artist often to make sure they are keeping up and/or if they need additional support with anything. I am so excited to see what they all create!
Learning Goals
Students will continue to build their drawing skills by following step-by-step instruction. Students will learn fun facts about different mythical creatures/characters. They will use their imaginations and creativity to add additional details to their drawings.

My name is Teacher Ileana. Welcome to My Outschool Teaching Space.
Back in 2020, I led many art classes and social clubs aimed towards building unity and community in the Outschool world. As of recent, I am now more focused on academic classes geared toward working with students to build confident readers and writers.
I have been an educator in the Department of Education for more than 8 years. However, I have been working with the youth (aged 3-18 years old) for more than 10 years. I have been an educational assistant, after-school and summer counselor, teacher's assistant, online ENL teacher and now a certified K-12 TESOL certified educator.
I tutor students in reading, math and writing online through other platforms as well.
I work hard to build positive relationships with students. In every class I focus on being personable, allowing opportunities for all students to be their authentic self and build their confidence.
In my class, students feel comfortable coming as they are, learning something new and leaving with a sense of confidence they should always strive for.
