In this four day camp we will explore nature and the world through landscape drawings. Each lesson will focus on one element or art (line or shape) around which we will construct a drawing. We will also learn about how landscapes are organized in space with the foreground, middleground and background. Students are encouraged to ask questions as we draw and share experiences they've had in the different types of landscapes. The structure of the class is as follows: 5 minutes to check in and view slide presentation which may include: art vocabulary and instruction, photos of landscape and art example, 35 minutes to draw (students may discuss drawings and ask questions during this time), and 5 minutes to share. Lesson Plan Sequence: Day 1) Straight line/Triangles: Forest Day 2) Zig Zag line: Mountain Day 3) Curvy line: Ocean Day 4) Dotted Lines: Wildflowers and Hills As the instructor I will set up a second camera so that students may follow along with step-by-step instruction.
