In this one hour long, 4 day camp we will draw portraits by Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Henry Matisse.

In this portrait class we will be drawing self portraits from Kahlo, Van Gogh, Picasso and Matisse's Green Stripe which is a portrait of his wife. We will discuss the importance of self portraits and and how they are created. I will also point out how each artist approaches their portraits. The students will learn basic measuring of the face and how the parts relate to each other. I will be teaching them tools to build their drawing using simple shapes, relating, shading, drawing light and loose, measuring, directions of lines, turning the drawing upside down and impact.

Plastic protective sheet, dry erase maker, paper, pencil, eraser, sharpened color pencils and the four photos printed out.
