Here is another in my" Draw With Me, Birds" series! This is such a fun bird to draw!! Very detailed but simple and easy to follow along, beginners and experienced drawers alike will want to try this. We use light sketching, shading, details and I show you how to use your graphite pencils. These techniques are taught in my " Draw with Me: Common Birds" Class and I recommend doing that class first, but it is not at all required. The piece de resistance of course is the dragonfly sticking out of his mouth!! These little details in the end pull it all together and delight the learner!! Students will be inspired by learning some basic facts about these beautiful and ferocious insectivorous birds and watching a YOUTUBE video of Bee Eater birds catching their prey.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a full time artist completely in love with creating art , I paint daily and sell my paintings locally and online.
I have enjoyed drawing since I was a child and have always had a sketchbook nearby but never took an art class until my late 20's. One oil painting class and I was off, learning everything I could, using as many art materials as I could get my hands on.
A fearless desire to try new art techniques and mediums has driven me to learn art on my own, no formal training , although I have learned a lot from some talented online art teachers.
It is exciting, inspiring, empowering to learn that you can create something beautiful with just your hands, your mind and a few simple tools.
I would become stagnant if I did not have an outflow for this creativity, so I teach!! I love sharing what I have learned with others. I am willing to teach whatever I am learning and creating so expect a variety of classes.
I taught art in a private school to grades K-12 for 2 years. I have also taught art and sewing lessons in my home. I was a homeschool mom for several years and taught art at our homeschool co-op to ages 6-13.
I think that online learning is a huge asset to the the young artist. Being that I have learned a lot online myself I know from a students perspective.
With close up cameras, a smart pen, sharing abilities in Zoom, printables and whatever else it takes , I am able to really focus the student on what they see, learning to see details and put them down on canvas or paper.
I believe every artist is at a different place in his or her learning process and needs to work right there in that place. No comparisons to others or mine. Mistakes are welcomed and hopefully turned into a new and unexpected beauty in the art.
My hope is that my students enjoy the process of learning and creating art as much as I do and that I can help make that happen.
