Class Experience
Children in this age group are learning about the alphabet. Drawing is a great way to express knowledge of letters and sounds, as well as to make connections to letters in the real world. In this ongoing class, we will focus on one letter of the alphabet per class. Each session will open with a mini presentation which may include: sounding out the letter, identifying objects that begin with the letter, and introducing a shape that we might use to draw the picture. 1. The student will be introduced to a letter in the alphabet and draw a picture associated with that letter. 2. The student will create a drawing using basic geometric shapes and lines.
This class is designed so that students can use the drawing materials they have available: 1 sheet of white paper Pencil Black marker Crayons Markers
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
