This course is a teacher-facilitated art club, in which students will practice portrait drawing every week while chatting with their peers! Students will be encouraged to ask questions and request topics they would like to hear more about. Previous experience in drawing portraits is highly recommended since the class is ongoing and lessons will not be chronological (for example beginning with outlining and moving to shading, etc.). The first ten minutes or so of class will be spent...
One thing that artists often struggle with is accountability! The goal of this class is to help provide a network/community of young artists to support one another as well as a block of time dedicated to honing their skills.
No homework is assigned, though students are encouraged to work on their drawings outside of class.
2 files available upon enrollmentThis class can be completed with a sharpened 2B pencil and paper. The following supplies would be great to have: Thicker drawing paper A set of graphite pencils ranging in hardness (for example, 4B to 2H) A kneaded eraser **if you have any art supply questions, feel free to ask!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students are encouraged to share their drawings (finished or in progress) with the class. They may also message me privately if they want specific feedback.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
