Students may practice drawing from observation, shading, creating texture, and adding backgrounds with contrast and depth-- or they may choose to focus on creativity and bringing their ideas to life.  Some may choose to include additional media practice such as ink, watercolor, colored pencil, or even digital media.

I have taught drawing for many years, and in my observation the most effective way to teach good drawing skills is to demonstrate them.  Drawing together with my students gives me the perfect forum to illustrate drawing techniques while helping them to build the critical thinking and observational skills they need to continue working on their own.  My goal is to build my students' skills and confidence as young artists!

While no previous drawing classes are required, students who are comfortable sketching will find themselves particularly at home in this class.  Students may draw in their own style, but still having the option to follow my demonstration.
