In this online art class, students will learn to draw beautiful horses. I (Meg Navarro, the instructor) demonstrate and explain step-by-step as students follow along, creating their own magnificent artwork. Students can copy my picture or can add their own creative embellishments and colors. We might draw one horse per day, or we might spend two days on each horse depending on the pace of the students in the class. I encourage students to hold their art up to the camera for show and tell,...
Students will learn realistic drawing - how to draw what they see rather than what they think they see. They will also learn how to create depth in their art to make it pop. They will learn how to select colors that look good together and how to add their own creative flair to their art. The end result will be beautiful and realistic drawings of horses.

1 file available upon enrollmentStudents are encouraged to use supplies that they already own so feel free to substitute other supply options. -Paper: cardstock or printer paper -Pencil and eraser -Choose one: colored pencils, crayons, supercrayons, OR pastels* *Depending on students' requests, I can demonstrate with colored pencils, crayons, supercrayons, which are a lot like pastels or other types of supplies. Students only need to use one of those, but I'll demonstrate with each so that everyone learns new techniques. I will teach how to layer and blend.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There are no grades for this class, but I love to encourage students by pointing out what I love about their art. There are no mistakes in art! But at the same time, if there's part of their art that the student isn't happy with, I can offer suggestions on how to improve that as well.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
