In this on-going class, we explore nature and explore characters and setting in a new fable each week.
Class experience
Fun and bubbly teacher promotes laughter and encourages quick thinking. Game type atmosphere where almost any answer is welcome as long as it is appropriate. Students will improve public speaking skills and build confidence while speaking with others. This is a social class to allows students to become comfortable talking and sharing ideas in a group setting. This class meets on the same day and time each week for your particular session. Students will learn setting, characters, conflict, and fable structure. Students will build confidence during reading and sharing with classmates.
I have been a middle and high school English Language Arts teacher for over a decade. I also coached teams for Odyssey of the Mind and Lego First Robotics. I have two boys ages 8 and 10.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental Guidance may be needed. Some stories talk about a frog that puffs itself up so big that it bursts. Sensitive children may not like that idea. All fables have an element of plants or animals talking as humans, tragedy, or trickery. All fables end with a lesson or moral that addresses the content.
