Students will practice drawing while learning about plants and insects. Students will draw during class and drawing techniques are worked into the curriculum. Students are encouraged to share their work with others during class and in the virtual classroom. The atmosphere is gentle and students are requested to check in at different stages but are never required to share their work. In this class we emphasize practice and drawing from observation. The botany and entomology information in this class is informative and inspiring. This class is an ongoing club and it meets in person each week. If you are interested in this material but can not find a time that works for your student, I am offering a flex class. https://outschool.com/classes/draw-plants-and-insects-drawing-club-rAzdaEKS?sectionUid=c94695de-494e-4ff0-b1cb-eaf4823d5b76#usZxbbLUZV

Teacher expertise and credentials
I love to observe the interesting shapes, shadows, and patterns that form what we see. Drawing is great way to really observe simple beauty that otherwise goes unnoticed. I have a BFA in Visual Arts and a MA in Art Education. I love plants and find insects fascinating. I look forward to sharing interesting things about the plants and insects we are drawing in this class.
