Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
This class is for aspiring artists who aren't afraid of getting a little messy and to express themselves creatively through art making. Students will create original works of watercolor art that reflect their feelings and unique individuality. We will learn various watercolor techniques and practice them each class meeting. Many of the projects or processes we will explore may be continued after our class session together, as art making and creativity often defy time. My intention is to share a wide variety of techniques for the beginning student as well as those students who have some or a lot of art making experience. Creating original art will build confidence, nurture innate creativity and spark right-brain activity, thus enhancing academic performance. All wonderful outcomes through cultivating an art practice and with the support of a weekly artist community.
I am offering this class because I love art making, and have an art studio in my home where I make art big and small, almost every day. My own unique style of art making incorporates mixed media, it's awesome. I love creating something beautiful that didn’t exist ever before! I have been making art since I was three-years old and grew up in a home environment where creativity was a way of life. I’ve always been creative and interested in colors, textures, textiles, fashion design and traveling the globe appreciating diverse cultures. I am inspired by nature, the cosmos and color most of all! To me, making art, expressing myself creatively and teaching others to do that, are as natural as breathing. Kids of all ages love my inspired, relaxed and energetic style of teaching art. I have been teaching art in formal settings for over 15 years. I look forward to having the opportunity to meet and create art together.
The primary homework for this class is to be prepared with your supplies and your art work space for the start of each class meeting. Please refer to the Supplies List (and External Resource link) below. More details will be shared in our Classroom for enrolled students.
Please have your watercolor supplies at the ready and set-up to create at the start of each class meeting. Supplies List: Items with an *asterik are highly suggested, the brand does not matter.
