Learn how to draw flowers in pencil with basic drawing techniques! Learn to use a series of basic shapes and shading techniques to create dimensional sketches. Photos will be provided for class learning and as inspiration for outside class sketches. We'll share and discuss sketches and different techniques throughout the class with all students. Questions and demonstrations throughout for learning comprehension. Knowledge of basic shapes such as a cylinder, sphere, etc. helpful. Week 1 - We'll study and draw basic shapes found in images of flowers and learn a little history about the famous Artist Georgia Georgia O'Keeffe Week 2 - We'll warm up with some light and shading techniques then add some value shading to our pencil sketches from the provided images. Week 3 - We'll draw a Georgia O'keefe inspired piece and learn some color pencil techniques. Week 4 - We'll review all techniques before doing one final step-by-step final flower drawing. (Coloring Optional) At the end of class on week 4, we'll review what we learned and share our art with one another.
Learning Goals
Students will sharpen their mental attention to details. They'll learn to see simple details in complex objects then record with greater accuracy what they see.

Learner Supply List: Pencil Colored Pencils Blending tool (blending stump, cotton swab, or small thin soft cloth) Drawing Paper (no lines please) Eraser Provided: printable image/s with sample sketches of simple drawing techniques and tools discussed in our sessions.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
