Dragon 3-day Summer Camp Draw Young and Silly "Wings of Fire" Dragons Wings of Fire In this 3-day camp, students are going to learn how to draw different WoF dragon characters. Every artist is encouraged to make the dragon their very own! Day 1: Sundew snoring in a hammock Day 2: Qibli on the beach building a sandcastle Day 3: Young Cricket flying and reading a book This is a NO SPOILER class! You do not have to be an artist to take this camp. You just need to love to create! Following is the breakdown of what topics will be covered each day: Please note that I encourage my students to create a dragon that is unique and has their very own style if they prefer! You may not enroll for one day. If you want a single dragon please look on my profile page for the days and times that dragon is offered. https://outschool.com/teachers/Emily-Albright I will take your student on a journey, Inspire, and build confidence. ABOUT In this dragon 4-day camp, your artists will learn to draw new Dragons in each class. I love to draw the dragons your artist requests! No drawing experience is needed for this class! I will teach everything your artist needs to know in every class in drawing properly! No spoilers allowed! ~ IMPORTANT~ Be on time for class! This is a step-by-step lesson and you need to be on time. If your artist is late for any reason I will let them in class and they can participate where we are in the drawing. I will offer your artist the option of doing the complete lesson on the recording after class has finished and the lesson has been uploaded to the cloud. PRIOR TO CLASS Students should start logging into class about 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows time for you to resolve any technical issues with your device's connection. If you are using a battery-powered device (laptop, Ipad, etc) be sure it is fully charged or connected to the power supply. I will use this time for students to show me any art they have completed and any questions prior to starting the class session. START OF CLASS First thing, we will go over the supplies needed for the lesson and will ask each student their name. I encourage students to use the chatbox during class for questions. If they have an answer to my questions they are then allowed to unmute to answer the question. I love class participation! Especially when we learn from each other about art! Then I will begin the step-by-step process of drawing out our character in easy-to-follow instructions. Each step will be broken down to the simplest form by using common shapes like circles and lines. My favorite is comparing shapes to food! Like a potato or a pizza. This frees the artist to allow for imperfections in their initial sketch. Once we build our character out, we will add details, texture, shading, and form to our drawing. If it is a painting, we will add these using watercolor paints. END OF CLASS At the end of class, each student is given the opportunity to show their work on the screen and tell the class about their work! This is a big confidence booster! You can see how much they worked and listened in class when they hold up their final art piece! Thank you for encouraging your artist to be creative! Art develops problem-solving skills. Art engages the creative mind. Art will allow you to express emotions that may be difficult in other ways (words / social interactions). Art will build confidence in your abilities. Art allows connection with other people. Art develops fine motor skills. Art is FUN! Supplies: Smooth white paper 8 1/2 x 11 Pencils HB, if they want darker values 2B, 3B, and 4B are recommended Erasers - plastic (white) and kneaded Blending Stump or Q-tip *According to Outschool policy, all students need to be registered separately. If they are not, they are to be placed in the waiting room until the parent can make arrangements to register the extra learners or the teacher may refund them. We understand the desire for friends or siblings to watch, but if two children are participating under one registration, they will be sent back to the waiting room per Outschool policy. One child per registration. It is acceptable for registered learners to share a screen! * I do not offer refunds or transfers 24 hours before class time. I adhere to the Outschool refund and transfer policy stated here: “Full refund or class-to-class transfer within 24 hours of the class start time.” If you miss the class you are given the opportunity to view the class recording found on the classroom page.

Unleash your inner artist with drawing lessons for young creators!
I dream of making a fun space for young people to feel safe, be creative, and build confidence!
Do you have a young artist who loves drawing:
Dragons like Toothless from HTTYD or the fierce tribes of Wings of Fire?
The brave cats of Warrior Clans or the wonders of real animals?
Maybe their imagination wants to create something entirely new!
No matter what they love to draw, I'm here to help them learn and grow!
My passion is to inspire young people to:
~Find courage and confidence in their creativity.
~Master the skills to bring their artistic visions to life.
~Have fun and enjoy the process of creating.
From basic drawing techniques to exploring different mediums, my interactive classes are designed to:
~Build confidence and self-esteem.
~Spark the imagination and fuel creativity.
~Develop essential skills like observation and problem-solving.
~Most importantly, foster a lifelong love for art!
Whether your young artist is a beginner or wants to refine their skills, I have a class for them!
My journey began with sketching as a child and working on graphic designs for T-shirts as a teen. As an adult, I have designed and painted larger-than-life murals and now teach art classes to the public. I currently teach weekly live worldwide art classes online. I get in-person interaction with my local events for those in the Houston, Texas, area!
I reside in Houston, Texas, and I am a retired homeschooled mom of three. (My last kid graduated in 2024). And a proud U.S. Marine Mom! When not putting my latest art onto paper, I can be found "pumping iron" at the gym with my husband of over 27 years. My family is very committed to saving animals, and our house is always full of foster animals from our local animal shelter! Beware, you may see or hear a puppy, kitten, or guinea pig in a live class!
My passion is inspiring young people to find courage and confidence in their creations! Imagination is the doorway to being able to express yourself and be happy!
Motto: Be who you needed when you were younger.
