Draw "Wings of Fire" detailed Sandwing, Seawing, Skywing, and Nightwing dragon heads! During this 4-week CAMP, your artist will learn to draw different dragon heads inspired by the Wings of Fire Series. So you do not have to read the books to draw the dragons, as all the dragons we draw can be created to be your artist's very own! This is a no spoiler class so please let's stick to learning how to draw our favorite dragons. ~Your artist will learn how to break down the dragon into simple shapes building the character and then adding the details. Foreshortening, shape, proportion, texture, and shading will be discussed in each session. In each successive class, students will be able to share their finished drawings and they will get feedback from the instructor. ~Artists can follow step by step and ask questions. I will give feedback on the student's progress and suggestions to improve their artistic skills. Artists are encouraged to hold their art up to the camera multiple times each class if they want help or encouragement, although this is optional. Artists are also welcome to ask for help during class at any point, so they never have to worry about getting stuck. ~As always in any of my classes, I encourage artists to create in their own style or follow along with me as we create dragons. ~Paper, pencil and an eraser are all you need. For the supplies I will use for each lesson please see the supplies needed. Digital drawing, colored pencils, or markers are always welcome in class! I encourage every artist to use what works best for them. ~ IMPORTANT~ Be on time for class! This is a step-by-step lesson and you need to be on time. If your artist is late for any reason I will let them in class and they can participate where we are in the drawing. I will offer your artist the option of doing the complete lesson on the recording after class has finished and the lesson has been uploaded to the cloud. Creating the following Hybrids WEEK 1: Draw - "Skywing" WEEK 2: Draw - "Seawing" WEEK 3: Draw - "Nightwing" WEEK 4: Draw - "Sandwing" I will take your student on a journey, Inspire, and build confidence. ABOUT In this 4-week dragon camp, your artists will learn to draw a new Dragon in each class. Basic drawing experience is needed for this class! I draw the dragon from the cover of the books! So you are welcome to make the drawing your own style. I do not allow blood, violence, or gore in my classroom. This class is fun and imaginative! PRIOR TO CLASS Students should start logging into class about 5 mins before the scheduled start time. This allows time for you to resolve any technical issues with your device's connection. If you are using a battery-powered device (laptop, Ipad, etc) be sure it is fully charged or connected to the power supply. I will use this time for students to show me any art they have completed and any questions prior to starting the class session. START OF CLASS First thing, we will go over the supplies needed for the lesson and will ask each student their name. I encourage students to use the chatbox during class for questions. If they have an answer to my questions they are then allowed to unmute to answer the question. I love class participation! Especially when we learn from each other about art! Then I will begin the step-by-step process of drawing out our character in easy-to-follow instructions. Each step will be broken down to the simplest form by using common shapes like circles and lines. My favorite is comparing shapes to food! Like a potato or a pizza. This frees the artist to allow for imperfections in their initial sketch. Once we build our character out, we will add details, texture, shading, and form to our drawing. If it is a painting, we will add these using watercolor paints. Specifics we will learn: Learn correct terms and techniques Contouring Shading Improve drawing skills How to choose pencil types and hardness. How to choose paper and art mediums. Create character and form using texture and shading. Learning perspective views. I encourage artists to ask me any art questions!!! END OF CLASS At the end of class, each student is given the opportunity to show their work on the screen and tell the class about their work! This is a big confidence booster! You can see how much they worked and listened in class when they hold up their final art piece! Thank you for encouraging your artist to be creative! Art develops problem-solving skills. Art engages the creative mind. Art will allow you to express emotions that may be difficult in other ways (words / social interactions). Art will build confidence in your abilities. Art allows connection with other people. Art develops fine motor skills. Art is FUN! Dragons like Toothless from HTTYD or the fierce tribes of Wings of Fire?
The brave cats of Warrior Clans or the wonders of real animals?
Maybe their imagination wants to create something entirely new!
No matter what they love to draw, I'm here to help them learn and grow!
My passion is to inspire young people to:
~Find courage and confidence in their creativity.
~Master the skills to bring their artistic visions to life.
~Have fun and enjoy the process of creating.
From basic drawing techniques to exploring different mediums, my interactive classes are designed to:
~Build confidence and self-esteem.

~Most importantly, foster a lifelong love for art!
Whether your young artist is a beginner or wants to refine their skills, I have a class for them!
My journey began with sketching as a child and working on graphic designs for T-shirts as a teen. As an adult, I have designed and painted larger-than-life murals and now teach art classes to the public. I currently teach weekly live worldwide art classes online. I get in-person interaction with my local events for those in the Houston, Texas, area!
I reside in Houston, Texas, and I am a homeschooled mom of three. (2 graduated, and one will graduate in 2024). And a proud U.S. Marine Mom! When not putting my latest art onto paper, I can be found "pumping iron" at the gym with my husband of over 27 years. My family is very committed to saving animals, and our house is always full of foster animals from our local animal shelter! Beware, you may see or hear a puppy, kitten, or guinea pig in a live class!
My passion is inspiring young people to find courage and confidence in their creations! Imagination is the doorway to being able to express yourself and be happy!
