Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Do you love drawing dragons? If you're a big fan of the Wings of Fire series and you love drawing dragons then we’ve got the class for you!

This is a pre-recorded class and there are no live meetings. The class is project-based learning where students will follow along and learn by watching pre-recorded video lessons. Students will post or send their works in the classroom and the teacher will give personalized feedback through a video recording! Students will post encouraging comments on their classmates' work.

In this class, students will learn to draw full body dragons from Wings of Fire with plenty of feedback, and encouragement from the instructor.

The instructor will demonstrate and explain step-by-step in a pre-recorded video as students follow along, creating their own magnificent artwork. Students can copy the instructor’s picture or can add their own creative embellishments and colors. This class is geared toward beginners and intermediate/advanced students are welcome as well. The main goals are that students have fun while creating art they can feel proud to display!

Here are some of the possible Wings of Fire Dragons that you will learn in class:
Lesson 1: Tsunami the Seawing
Lesson 2: Kinkajou the Rainwing
Lesson 3: Typhoon the Seawing-Icewing Hybrid
Lesson 4: Queen Scarlet the Skywing

During class, students will learn step-by-step how to draw the character. Students will finish coloring on their own and can share their art inside the classroom for encouraging feedback.

Supplies:

Students are encouraged to use supplies that they already own.

The instructor will demonstrate using the following, but again, students do not need these exact supplies:
-Printer Paper
-Marker or Pencil to outline and draw
Learning Goals
Students will learn both realistic drawing and imaginative drawing techniques. They will also learn how to create depth in their art to make it pop. They will learn how to select colors that look good together and how to add their own creative flair to their art. The end result will be cool drawings of dragons they will feel proud to display.

Each instructor at Megapixels School of the Arts is a master of their craft and is certified to teach the Megapixels Method. This method of instruction trains students to be able to draw realistically while having the freedom to go wild with creativity and the mindsets to succeed.

We go beyond teaching art: our mission is to equip children with mindsets that will help them succeed in all areas of life. Patience, persistence, peacefulness. Character, confidence, creativity. Cultivating these qualities in your child through a fun art experience is our passion.

We are on a mission to empower kids to become lifelong learners, who are confident in their creativity so they can overcome any obstacle, achieve their biggest dreams, and change the world.

We encourage students to not get caught up in perfectionism but rather to enjoy the process, which further unleashes creativity.
