Learn how to draw dynamic, fun, cartoon bodies and action poses in this 5-week course. In week 1 we begin with stick figures, which may sound simple, but there is more to learn from them than you might think. We will push these simple forms to their limits in order to learn about proportions, motion, and emotion. In week 2 we progress to ribbon figures. We continue to develop the skills learned in the first week but with the added dimension of planar bodies. Week 3 is where the bodies are fully 3 dimensional. We tackle the challenge of maintaining dynamism and emoting with a more stout and bulky form. Now comfortable with cartoon figures, week 4 is when we clothe them. We will explore all types of clothing, footwear, and outerwear. Finally, in week 5 we apply all these skills to a variety of cartooning styles, from simple comic strip characters to anime characters to comic superheroes. We will also play with body types and the varying shapes of humanity including how proportions change with age. By the end of this course, students will feel much more confident in their ability to draw people's bodies. After the course, continue drawing with me by joining my group, Draw More With Jerry Joe Seltzer https://outschool.com/groups/drawing-more-with-jerry-joe-seltzer-aHORDq7k#usVW5rGrRu
