Using guided drawing, we will create an accurate representation of a sea turtle in easy to follow steps, while also discovering facts about Hawaii and this amazing reptile. Taught by a certified art teacher.

Beginner - Intermediate Level
What will be taught: Facts about Hawaii, how to draw a sea turtle, basic drawing terminology regarding lines and shapes, facts about sea turtles. What topics will be covered: Introduction to Hawaii, the appropriate steps to draw an accurate rendering of a sea turtle, facts about sea turtles. How is the class structured: Teacher introduction, student introductions, quick reminder of student code of conduct, introduction to the lesson with a slide presentation, guided drawing, students' independent drawing if time permits, spotlighting to give students an opportunity to showcase their artwork, wrap-up. What is my teaching style: friendly, upbeat, calm, supportive, helpful, while maintaining students' focus on the lesson's objective. How much will learners interact with me and each other: students' direct interaction with me will be at the beginning and the end of the lesson, but they are free to ask questions at any time during instruction in a non-disruptive manner. I will consistently have check-ins with students throughout the lesson to gage their comprehension and progress. Students interaction with each other will also mostly occur at the beginning and the end of the class. Required experience for students: the ability to use hand/eye coordination to hold and maneuver a pencil to create an image on a sheet of paper.
