Want to learn to draw your favorite anime and videogame characters with confidence?

Having trouble with the details, the hands, the face, or the pose?

Don't worry, in this class we cover the entire process from sketch to finished detailed drawing.

Students will be filled with confidence in their abilities to draw their favorite characters or their favorite anime/games, and techniques to expand their styles.

These lessons are for all teens with an interest in progressing their skills in replicating popular styles, and drawing their favorite characters with a growing accuracy.

This class is geared for students with an interest in anime and video games of a broad genre, from beginner to advanced skills in drawing.

All students - whether familiar or not with drawing from references - will benefit from this class, as we approach our subjects with a critical eye and develop the skills needed to copy various styles in our favorite entertainment.

Classes begin with a welcome and brief intro and then the demonstration as students draw along with me. Students are encouraged to add their own creative customizations as we go along and they find more confidence in their work. We pause to share work and get feedback throughout.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

🔥 KAITLYN SYDELLE, ANIME COMIC ARTIST: With a B.F.A. in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Illustration from CSU Fresno, I am an experienced, award winning comic artist with several self-published titles. I have been professionally teaching comics and anime themed classes to artists of all ages since 2013, from 1-on-1 elementary sessions to college-level classrooms. I’m very passionate about everyone experiencing the confident joy of putting your ideas onto paper, and feeling your world come to life. I believe there is no such thing as a “bad” art style, and that anyone can draw given the chance. In my classes, I help guide students to develop the styles they would enjoy practicing, honing their own signature style, or having space to try a new technique! Some of my favorite hobbies outside of art are studying foreign languages and martial arts to keep my brain and body active.

🎬 MAGGIE WEHLER, PROFESSIONAL ANIMATOR AND ILLUSTRATOR: Maggie Wehler is a freelance animator and illustrator who has worked on a multitude of indie video games and indie animation projects! As she loved video games and cartoons as a child, she began drawing digitally in middle school and hasn’t stopped since! Taking that passion, she took online classes through the Academy of Art University in highschool and then pursued a degree in Film & Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she also completed a minor in Game Design. After college, Maggie attended the Disney College Program and worked at the Walt Disney World Parks in Florida while attending seminar classes with Disney artists and designers! She also makes freelance animated videos for the Youtube channel Psych2Go, which has over 11 million subscribers! Maggie firmly believes that everyone deserves to have a space to create, all art forms are valid, and any art fundamentals can be learned through drawing characters you love to draw! Other than drawing, Maggie enjoys playing video games like Splatoon and Monster Hunter, along with watching movies, anime and reading graphic novels.
