Description
Class Experience
Students will use fine motor skills to draw a picture and learn strategies for writing words and sentences.
I used Kid Writing strategies during writing workshop in my kindergarten classroom for many years. I was always amazed at the progress the children made in just a few months. They were happy writers! I'm hoping to transfer this wonderful strategy from the brick and mortar classroom to the online Outschool platform so that young children can enjoy writing without having to worry about spelling every word correctly. That will come later!
Students are encouraged to draw and write one page per day (Monday - Thursday) and submit at least one to the classroom page each week.
plain white paper or paper with some lines, pencil, eraser, crayons, colored pencils (markers are optional and may bleed through the paper)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The teacher will provide an informal assessment based on the Conventions of Writing Developmental Scale
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
