Lines and Shapes are fun to draw and they are important in art. After introductions we will review how to take turns in the ZOOM classroom. The list of materials will be gone over to make sure everyone is prepared for the project. On a piece of scratch paper, the class will draw and review the names of lines and geometric shapes in art, sharing their prior knowledge. The artist Wassily Kandinsky will be introduced and one of his paintings will be shown and discussed. The art project will be in the style of his painting 'Circles in a Circle'. Step by step instructions will be given to compose an abstract composition with room for the learner to add their own style. After drawing the lines and shapes, the class will use paints to add color to their work. At the end of class the learners will be asked to share their art if they wish.
