Class Experience

For the first ten minutes of class, students will learn life science facts about the keel-billed toucan and its marvelous beak during an interactive Goggle Slide presentation. Then, learners will be led through a directed drawing lesson and hear even more information about the toucan’s tropical rainforest habitat. The teacher will use a document camera during the directed drawing and a second camera so the learners will be able to see her face.  At the end of class, students will have an...

This class is taught in English.

Students will learn interesting life science facts about toucans.
Students will use listening skills to follow simple step-by-step directions on how to draw a toucan and hibiscus flower.
Students will use their creativity to design the toucan's habitat.
Students will never again have to wonder how a toucan is able to fly with a beak that HUGE!

The teacher has a master's degree in Integrating Arts into the Curriculum and has traveled to the rainforest many times. She was a kindergarten through 4th-grade public school teacher and small business owner of a tutoring company.  Judy has been teaching animal art and poetry classes on Outschool since March 2020.
