What’s included
Class Experience
Each week, students will learn all about one or two new dog breeds. Students will view posts with information about each dog breed, including its history, character traits, physical traits, and interesting facts. Students will watch a pre-recorded video with a guided drawing lesson, following the accompanying printable drawing steps. Each drawing will start with a basic pencil outline for the proportions of the dog, then add body and face details, and finish by coloring and adding unique accessories. The result of the course will be new knowledge about various breeds, plus special drawings that enhance the students' drawing abilities, creativity, and confidence. Flex Course schedule: Week 1: Golden Retriever Week 2: Dachshund Week 3: Shiba Inu Week 4: Pomeranian & French Bulldog Since this is a flex course, students can view the information and videos on their own time. However, I will always be available for questions or assistance. Students can take as much time as needed to draw each dog breed. They can share their drawings and receive tips and feedback from the teacher and peers. Students will gain new information and interesting facts about each dog breed. At the end of each week, students will be encouraged to discuss the dog breeds for greater comprehension. As a flex course, this class does not include live class meetings in Zoom, but there will be teacher-to-learner and learner-to-learner interaction in the online classroom. These interactions will take place via the Outschool messaging, where learners and the teacher can interact on a one-on-one basis for questions and feedback. The teacher and learners will also post discussion and trivia videos in the Outschool classroom. The course will also include a scavenger hunt to further comprehend the new information. Group discussions will be visible to all learners in the course, and students are expected to post, share, and comment on their classmates' artwork. This class works well for students who have had some beginner drawing experience to students at more intermediate levels. Students should have the ability to draw basic geometric shapes, like circles, ovals, triangles, squares, and rectangles. During classes, they will be given plenty of guidance with the outline, proportions, perspectives, details, and shading.
Learning Goals
Students will improve drawing skills: outline, perspective, proportions, shapes, lines, angles
Students will work on coloring and shading skills: highlights, light source, shadows
Students will gain knowledge of dog breeds, like interesting and historical facts.
Student will gain confidence in drawing skills, conversation with peers, and creativity.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome! I'm Miss Ashley, from Charlotte, NC. My three biggest passions are teaching, sports, and art. I am certified in teaching youth fitness and sports, art, and English. I've been teaching children, ages 2-18 years, for over 10 years. I have also been coaching high school volleyball for the past five years. In my free time, I love watching and playing sports, creating new art projects, and cuddling with my three dogs.
Having worked with children with different learning disabilities, I aim to engage and facilitate learning that is accessible for all students. Building connections and creating a warm, friendly environment has always been part of my teaching style, so I can better understand how each student learns best, becomes engaged, and comprehends the course material. I like to use fun games to check comprehension and skill development, so the students are enjoying classes while learning!
I'm so excited to meet you in one of my classes!
Sincerely,
Miss Ashley
