Draw a Village View Using a Fine Liner, a Felt Tip Pen, Marker Pen and a Pencil

In this one time class, students will use a fine liner, a felt tip pen, a thicker marker pen and a pencil and learn how to create a series of expressive marks and lines to produce a monochromatic drawing of a village view.

Class Experience

We will begin the session by experimenting with our drawing pens and seeing what sort of marks we can make and comparing the different tools and their associated marks. After our tests we will look at photographs of the village viewpoint.  I will show examples of my work and demonstrate how to create a drawing of that view - where to start. We will then all work together to produce one or two simple expressive drawings of the village view.

By the end of the session students will have learned:
> About the different tools and the types of marks that can be achieved with them
> How to have applied these marks to a drawing of a village view

You will need:
> a pencil, a black sharpie or felt tip pen, a black biro, a black fine liner pen
> A4 paper

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
