In this one-session guided drawing class, students will examine shapes and proportions of dolphin anatomy. The teacher will guide them through the step-by-step process of drawing and shading with a pencil, and if time allows at the end, hold a class critique so that students can show off their creations.
Students will work on their drawing and shading skills using a pencil and eraser.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
No homework--this is a single session class, but hopefully it will inspire students to continue to draw dolphins on their own!
Paper Pencil Eraser Pencil sharpener piece of paper towel (optional) If possible, it's always helpful for students to do a google image search of dolphins and print a few images for reference!
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
