In this one-time course, students will learn interesting facts about the endangered Giant Panda of China, and draw a panda eating bamboo using foundational pencil sketching and drawing techniques.
Class experience
In this class, we will learn some interesting facts and background about the Giant Panda of China, and then follow a step by step process to create our drawing. This class is suited for both beginners and practicing artists, as each step is clearly shown and explained, and both beginning and intermediate/advanced methods are demonstrated. Students will learn how to draw the Giant Panda, and learn about and develop useful pencil drawing techniques including value, shading, texture, proportions, and line.
Sketching or drawing paper Eraser (plastic vinyl eraser such as Staedtler Mars plastic if available) Pencil sharpener Pencil (a regular No. 2 works great. If drawing pencils are available, a B or 2B can be used for sketching, and a 4, 6 and/or 8B for shading.)
