Class Experience

In this ongoing class we will be learning to draw a new animal or character each week. Some will be realistic animals and others will be cartoon animals, we might even to portraits in this class. It will be nice to have a variety of things to learn to draw and explore what the student enjoys drawing the most and what style they prefer. The idea is to keep each week fresh and new by changing it up every week. Students will also be able to make request to what they might like to draw in future lessons/classes.

Week of (Week 1) : Draw and Paint a Fox (Each student will need paper and pencil and something to color with marks, colored pencils or pens or crayons)

Hi! My name is Sandra Goodwin. I have done volunteering (teaching) in elementary school for over 10 years. I mainly did art projects with our students. That included making homemade cards, making bulletin boards and painting, drawing and much more, but the art and painting projects were always my favorite. I started volunteering when my son started school and now he is 20 and grown up.

I guess I have done a little bit of everything. I used to teach surf lessons, and I was also professional surfer when I was younger. Teaching surf lessons was super fun. I loved it so much because surfing, like art, is an enormous passion of mine. I think when you are teaching something you love it really shines through because you want others to experience the joy and fun that you find in what your teaching.
