○ We will begin this exciting lesson by talking about our favorite things to draw, and then go through the steps of drawing a cupcake together. ○ At each step, students will have the opportunity to make their own decisions based on how they want their cupcake to look (topper, flavors, etc.) while using the design elements shape, outline, and color. ○ Students will see how the teacher uses emphasis to make something in the drawing stand out as a focal point, and students will find something in their own drawing to emphasize as well! ○ Students will color their drawings as they wish, and have the chance to discuss and ask questions throughout. ○ At the end, they will be able to share their drawings with each other and think about how else they can apply these new skills. *Because this is a short lesson, students are expected to arrive in a timely manner so that we can cover everything outlined here.
