Beginner Level
In this beginner drama enrichment class, students will learn the term Imagination and demonstrate how we can use our imagination to perform Drama (acting out a story, character, or action in a live performance). The lesson will focus on how actors can use their imagination when performing with objects (props). This is a great class for students to pretend, be creative, and think critically while engaging with other students. Students should be prepared to participate in fun and skillful dramatic activities. Essential Questions: What is imagination? How can we use our imagination when performing Drama? What are props? Why do we use props in Drama? How can we collectively use our imagination? Materials: Students will need two small objects of their choice to participate in the lesson. Please ensure that these objects are safe for students to hold and utilize during the lesson. Examples of possible objects are a book, plastic water bottle, or tennis ball. Space: Students will need a designated area that allows them to sit comfortably and stand up while performing minimal movements. Attire: Comfortable clothing that will allow students to move freely is suggested.
