In this class, students will discuss a different show each week. We will talk about different productions of the show (if applicable), what we like about it, the characters and plot, and the history behind it. Students will also be given the opportunity to participate in theatre games if there is time. This class will be primarily lecture-based, with students having the opportunity to discuss the show of the week per week. Our schedule will be as follows: Mondays at 3:00PM EST, starting 1/4/2020. 1/4 - Hamilton 1/11- Be More Chill 1/18 - Dear Evan Hansen 1/25 - Hadestown 2/1 - Week Off 2/8 - Phantom of the Opera 2/15 - Six the Musical 2/22 - Beetlejuice 3/1 - Mean Girls **All students must have a working camera and microphone. Please read the parental guidance section before enrolling.**
Learning Goals
Students will learn about different Broadway musicals and get the opportunity to socialize with peers who have similar interests.

Parental Guidance
These musicals contain themes or mentions of infidelity, suicide, self-harm, double entendres, profanity, underage drinking, substance abuse, homophobia, references to the afterlife, outdated gender concepts, outdated societal concepts, and LGBTQA+ themes. Guardians are advised to ask if they have any concerns about a particular musical topic, and decide if their student is of the right maturity level to handle the class.
