In this book club we will explore the motif of dragons throughout literature. We will compare characteristics of dragons with human traits and ideals, explore cultural connections with the concept of dragons in different times and places, and discuss the symbolism surrounding dragons. At the end we will produce creative works utilizing the dragon motif. The club schedule will be as follows: Week 1: Characteristics of dragons Week 2: Dragon cultures Week 3: Dragons as a literary symbol Week 4: Tell your dragon story During each session, learners will be allowed to perform relevant creative activities or fidget/stim as needed in order to engage with the material and with others. Learners who are uncomfortable speaking on camera will have the option to use the chat function. I do not assign letter or number grades to participation in this club. If parents need to assign a grade for a transcript I will be happy to provide information on topics covered and learner participation at the end of the club.
