In this 7 session course inspired by "How to Train Your Dragon," learners will identify and create Dragon Eggs of the seven dragon classes.
Class experience
In a Flex class, there are no live meetings. This means your child will receive pre-recorded videos and digital presentations they can watch and create at their own pace on whatever schedule works best! Each week will focus on one of the 7 Dragon Classes. Learners will discuss qualities of the dragons in the class discussion boards and create a 3D dragon egg using a different medium and materials each week. Homework Offered
This class is a "fan inspired art class" and learners really benefit when there is a lot of classroom participation and interaction between peers. Please encourage your learner to: 1. Submit a photo of their project each week. 2. Check in throughout the week and respond to new comments and prompts. 3. View other's comments and projects and write comments/kind reactions for peers to see. (Everyone likes to hear how other's like their art! It encourages young artists to keep creating!) 4. Respond to other learner's comments and feedback about their own work.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

An extensive list of craft materials will be required beyond just basic art supplies. Here are some of the more specific items we will be working with: Hollow Plastic eggs Air Dry Clay Slime making ingredients Smooth round rock Acrylic paints sequins, glitter, and other misc craft tid bits Scissors Hot glue and glue gun colorful washi tape or duct tape craft fur, feathers, and other fabric scraps Florescent paint or pigment powder Easily cleaned up area for making messy crafts Styrofoam ball or egg A complete and detailed list will be provided in the classroom and reminders of materials needed will be sent each week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Adult Supervision is suggested for projects using Paper Mache, Hot Glue, and scissors.
Web Links and suggested videos will be referenced featuring dragons in the Dreamworks "How to Train your Dragon" Franchise.
