In this class, we will read and discuss the chapters in Dragon Masters: Rise of the Earth-Dragon. Students will meet the Dragon Masters, dragons, King Roland, a wizard, and learn about the mysterious dragon stone! In this first book of Dragon Masters, Drake is snatched by the king's soldiers and taken to the castle to be trained as a Dragon Master. He meets three other Dragon Masters-in-training Bo, Rory, and Ana. Drake's task is to learn how to connect with, train, and find out his dragon's special power. We will find out if Drake has what it takes to be a dragon trainer and what his dragon's special power is! In Meeting 1, we will read and then discuss chapters 1-5. We will work on character webs on characters. In meeting 2, we will read and then discuss chapters 6-11. We will add more details to our character webs. I am passionate about creating a positive classroom environment that is both supportive and engaging, where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and participating in discussions. With my expertise in Reading instruction, I strive to help each student develop a lifelong love for reading while achieving academic goals.
My passion is literature. I believe stories make concepts more palpable to children. Stories can teach readers valuable lessons, make them laugh, and see things from a different perspective, or take them somewhere new!
When I have time, I like to travel, experience different cultures, and learn the history of people and places. I am also an animal lover! I have two dogs, have worked with animal rescues, and fostered cats and dogs for years.
If you are interested in a class and don't see a time that meets your needs, please send me with your time request. I look forward to meeting your learner in class!
