This is the perfect class for students who love to read the Dragon Girls series. We will start with the first book and read as a whole class! This is a great way to stay reading over the summer and increase our reading comprehension.

Class Experience: In this fun and interactive book club, students will read and discuss Dragon Girls: Azmina the Gold Glitter Dragon together! Each week, we’ll read two chapters, talk about what’s happening in the story, and play games to boost comprehension and vocabulary. This club is perfect for readers who love fantasy, teamwork, and adventure. What we’ll cover: Reading fluency and comprehension Story elements (characters, setting, plot) Vocabulary in context Making predictions and connections Class structure & teaching style: Each session includes reading time (out loud or guided), a group discussion, and a short activity or game related to the week’s chapters. I keep things upbeat, encouraging every learner to share ideas and join in at their comfort level. Learner interaction: This is a small group club, so everyone will have a chance to talk, ask questions, and play. We focus on respectful discussion and building confidence as readers. Weekly plan: ⇢ Week 1 (June 9th and 12th) : Chapters 1–2 – Meet Azmina and discover the dragon realm ⇢ Week 2 (June 16th and 19th): Chapters 3–4 – Facing new challenges ⇢ Week 3 (June 23rd and 26th): Chapters 5–6 – Secrets revealed ⇢ Week 4 (June 30th and July 3rd): Chapters 7–8 – Teamwork and big decisions ⇢ Week 5 (July 7th and 10th): Chapters 9–10 – Final battle and wrap-up No prior knowledge is needed—just bring your copy of the book and your imagination!
