Welcome to Dragon and OC Drawing Club! NOTE: This class has primarily become a time of sharing characters and artwork with a fun community of character artists! Each week I will give the class a character design prompt for the class to draw while they share their latest OC and species designs each week. Each learner gets a turn to be 'spotlighted', to share their characters, art, and stories. ALL types of OCs are welcome! Bring your animal, human, humanoid, anthro, and other creature characters to show! In this Ongoing course, learners will be able to introduce their own original characters (and other original species) and their stories, while practicing and improving our drawing skills by drawing with a fun community of artists! Learners will be invited to chat and socialize with each other as we draw, and will each get a turn to share their own characters and drawings. This is a social drawing class for story and character creators, so students will be allowed to share their thoughts, ideas, and have a space to talk to a group about their characters and stories. Each week, we will focus on a new prompt for our designs, tailored to the learner's interests. We will aim to improve our understanding of animal, creature, and human anatomy, including features like wings, expression, clothing folds, poses, and more. Hope to see your learner in class!

A pencil, paper, eraser, ink pen, and coloring material. Students who would like to use digital art are also welcome!

Hello! My name is Michelina Leonard, but I go by Ms. Mickey in my classes!
I'm a digital illustrator and designer, known best for my love of animals and how they inspire my work. Raised in Pennsylvania, I live in the country with my menagerie of parrots, goats, chickens, and cats. I have a college education in digital art and have professional work experience in the field, including graphic/logo design, children's book illustration, novel cover design, studio painting, 2D animation, and more.
My most popular classes are my Warrior Cat's Clubs, where learners get to enjoy connecting with other fans of the book series, learning art techniques, sharing their creative work, and role-playing with their 'clan'. I teach traditional basic drawing techniques, along with digital art and animation. Most importantly, though, students get to share their characters and showcase their artwork!
Drawing "battle cats" isn't my only topic of interest, though! I also have a Dragon Drawing Club (for Wings of Fire fans), an Original Character Club, where we draw and discuss ALL types of OCs!
I like to keep my classes social and interactive! I structure my classes in a way that fosters a community within the group, and I am driven to ensure that every student feels valued and welcomed in the classroom. My favorite part is that learners get to connect and inspire each other to improve, rather than just listening to me give a weekly lecture. The artwork skill improvement that I've seen in many of my students within this group enviroment has been astronomical and a joy to witness!
