Description
Class Experience
CLASS LAYOUT: -Welcome to class: We will chat as we wait for everyone to join -Read book: I will read the book aloud to the class and show the pictures. -Discussion topic. There will be a topic for every lesson. The book will introduce the topic and then we will discuss it as a class. -Activity: We will do a fun activity that goes along with the book and our discussion. COURSE SCHEDULE: *We will rotate through books* *Since we read a new book every class, students may join at any time...
Concepts of Print (How to hold a book, where to start reading on a page, which direction to read, where to go after completing a line of text, etc.) Comprehension (By pairing reading with discussion, children are forced to process what they read and understand it as they talk about it and connect it with other scenarios.) Social skills (As this is a group class with group discussion, students will have an opportunity to interact with peers. We will also be covering topics like how to be a good friend as part of this course.)
I am a licensed and experienced teacher. I have helped over 100 children learn to read. I have worked in kindergartens and as a private tutor.
