Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this one-time class, we will discuss from head to toe, Dr. Seuss's fun, engaging picture book called Inside Your Outside/All About The Human Body. After a short read-aloud, students will learn about key body parts: eyes, ears, nose, etc. as well as various organs inside the body such as the heart, lungs, brain, and bones. With the help of the book and activities, I will use simple terms to explain their main functions and locations.

Plus, we will examine silly quotes in the book such as "One bone in your ear (this made us think twice) is so small-it's the size of just one grain of rice!" and will discuss our five different senses: smell, taste, touch, hear, and sight. Students will color a page while listening and be encouraged to ask/answer questions/fun activities. An optional coloring page will be sent out prior to the start of class. Happy creating.

Hi

My name is Kerie Miller. I am an Early Literacy Tutor and Certified Jolly Phonics tutor. Plus, a professional author/illustrator working in children's publishing and I work under the pen name Charlie Eve Ryan aka Mrs. Charlie. I have done projects for both trade books and educational publishers. Everything from picture books to board books and magazine spreads. I also do art workshops. Clients include Page Street Kids, Astra Publishing, Amicus Ink, McGraw Hill, as well as Highlights and Ladybug Magazines.

As an Early Literacy Tutor, I work for an online educational company where we work with children in charter schools all over the US. I work with children ages K-5nd grade. We help create future readers.

In the past, I have worked for a local school district as a substitute teaching assistant. I love to teach and interact with budding bookmakers, writers, and artists, while also helping students develop early math, reading, and English skills.

My classes are a place for creatives to explore new ideas and build confidence in their maker skills. A place where art, words, and fun facts collide.
