In this one time class, students will learn and practice multi-digit addition skills as they work through a series of puzzles in order find clues and solve a mystery! This class is structured as a breakout / escape room type class.

Calling all Mathematicians! We need your help!!! The STAR Students of Galaxy Elementary School are faced with yet another mystery!! Sophia, Trey, Anthony and Rosa were begging Mrs. G. to get another class pet. Mrs. G. made a deal with them - only if everyone in the class gets perfect attendance. The school year came and went and the STAR students never missed class, not even once! Use your awesome addition skills to find clues in order to figure out what class pet the students are...
- Students will be exposed to multi-digit addition skills (including carrying). A fair amount of reading will be part of this assignment as well.

Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: Students will have ample time to complete the assignment during class, but if a learner does not finish the escape room during class, they have the option to finish it afterwards.
A whiteboard and marker or pencil and paper will be helpful. Students will receive a Google Slides at the time of their schedules class. I will send it in the Zoom chat box.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
