Class Experience

Food delivery services such as Door Dash have become very popular in this present time. In this one-time class, students will enjoy pretending to ride along with "Dan" the Door Dash driver as he picks up, and delivers his food orders. Students will learn how to calculate the amounts of food orders using basic math skills such as time-lapse, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The teacher will teach using PowerPoint slides. Students will interact with the teacher, individually and with one another to discuss the process of solving math problems throughout the lesson. My teaching style involves using a variety of teaching methods and resources to support a variety of learners' confidence, learning needs, and learning styles. Students will need to know basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to participate in this class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to calculate multiple prices, estimate time-lapse, and practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills.

I have a Master's degree in Childhood education. While obtaining my degree, I received extensive training in both public and private elementary schools in core subjects such as language arts, math, science, and social studies for grades 1-6. As a classroom teacher in a private school for more than 20 years, I have taught math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and time-lapse. In addition, I have prepared students each year in grades 1-6 for the New York State ELA and Math exams. My strength, experience, expertise, and interests are in lower-level elementary school math where I can assist students in building upon their foundational math skills
