Give a child pencil and paper and ask them to write a story, and they usually have a hard time coming up with a topic. Give them a doodle page and ask them to draw a picture, and they will jump right in and get busy. Now, let's turn that doodle into a story! This class works great for reluctant and excited writers. Students will learn how to take a doodle, turn it into and illustration, and write a story.
Getting students to enjoy writing is hard. This is an activity that has always worked for me. I look forward to sharing it with your learner.
Students will be expected to complete their illustrations and story maps before day 2. I will encourage them to edit and post their stories to the classroom for all to enjoy after the second day is over.
* doodle pages and story map will be provided - Please make sure to print them before class starts. *pencil *the students favorite drawing and coloring tools (crayons, markers, and/or colored pencils)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Please make sure that the doodles and story map are printed before class starts.
