Class Experience

In this 4 session class learners will participate in a live session with paper, pencils, and pens in hand. Be ready to doodle!
The teacher will provide a series of instructions, how-tos, prompts, and demonstrations for our materials and learners will follow along and practice the skills discussed.

The Doodle Topics we will cover include:
Week #1 - NAMES, LIFE, DOCUMENTATION (doodles ideal for journaling)
Week #2 - THOUGHTS, IDEAS, BRAINSTORMING (using prompts to spark creativity)
Week #3 - CHARACTERS, FACES, EXPRESSIONS (using shapes to create oodles of doodles)
Week #4 - ZENTANGLES (using shapes, line, space, and texture. doodling to relax)

Learners who have some drawing experience are encouraged but beginners are always welcome.
Learners will be asked to be on camera and be comfortable sharing their work with their peers. Class sizes will be kept small to ensure we create a safe and close environment of encouragement, accountability, and kindness.
Learning Goals
Learners will enforce and expand upon drawing concepts such as shape, line, texture, movement, and harmony. Learners will grow their artistic language and build confidence in their explorations of technique and ideas. Learners will be exposed to positive examples of art critique and constructive criticism. Learners will come away from this program with improved ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute; these skills can be applied to doodle AND their personal art practice with other mediums of any level.

" With a focus on traditional media, old and new art techniques and a core understanding of the principals and elements of art and design, I strive to give learners the tools they need to not only be successful artists but to facilitate the ability to apply those tools to creative thinking and discovery outside the classroom. In this classroom we are co-learners and we explore the course material together. " - Sharon Ross
