As an animal lover and mom of animal lovers I know it was time to create a space where we can chat about animals and all their unique facts, think Wild Kratts mixed with art! Learning about animals is such a fun space since all animals are so unique and special. Each week we are going to learn about a different animal around the world and some of their unique facts all while creating a cool picture of them. Students are able to use whatever art medium they want to create their art piece. They could use crayons, markers, pencil crayons, paint, or pastels. I want children to utilize what they have around them but also the art medium they enjoy using. This is a great class for students to learn something new, chat with new friends, create art and have so much fun. Students will need: - paper - crayons, markers, pencil crayons or paint (their choice) Students can also do digital art using procreate or ibis paint if desired. ** THIS IS AN ONGOING CLASS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COME AND GO AS IT SUITS YOUR SCHEDULE ** Animal of the week Week of September 6 - Penguins Week of September 13 - Kangaroos Week of September 20 - Hippos Week of September 27 - Giraffes Week of October 4 - Jaguar Week of October 11 - Hummingbird Week of October 18 - Orangutan Week of October 25 - Dolphin Week of November 1 - Skunks Week of November 8 - Polar Bears Week of November 15 - Otters Week of November 22 - Turtles Week of November 29 - Cheetah Week of December 6 - Octopus Week of December 13 - Butterflies Week of December 20 - NO CLASS Week of December 27 - NO CLASS Week of January 3 - Elephant Week of January 10 - Jellyfish Week of January 17 - Koala Week of January 24 - Zebra Week of January 31 - Sharks Week of February 7 - Spider Monkey Week of February 14 - Macaws Week of February 21 - Tiger Week of February 28 - Opossum Week of March 7 - Flamingo Week of March 14 - Lion Week of March 21 - Lemur Week of March 28 - Arctic Fox Week of April 4 - Hawk Week of April 11 - Camel Week of April 18 - Panda Week of April 25 - Orca ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Art class, digital art class, zoology, wild kratts, directed drawing, drawing class, crafts, animals, science and nature

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
My name is Emile Power and I cannot wait to meet your learner! I am a stay-at-home mom to three daughters, live in Toronto, ON and have nine years of teaching experience. I earned my bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology through Laurentian University as well as a TESOL and TEFL certificates. After tutoring privately for many years for ages 3-18, I began teaching ESL in the online classroom. I have been teaching ESL online for over two years now and absolutely love the online classroom! I have a multitude of experience working with children with disabilities including but not limited to ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome and learning disabilities. My classroom is a place of accessibility so please do not hesitate to ask for accommodations or let me know how I can help your child succeed.
My teaching style is student centered and engaging. I like to focus on bringing learning to life through activities. I have always been a hands on learner and watching my daughters learn as well it seems to stick better when they can get their hands dirty. My classes will always include creating. We will work through concepts like math, reading and comprehension through creating and using our imagination. I will be focusing on comprehension, creativity and imagination in my classes for all ages. I will have classes designed for specific age groups to ensure all learners can participate in an atmosphere that suits their learning level and needs.
Life lessons are so important and creating a classroom environment to learn them in a fun way is always my goal. Using the creative side of the brain allows for different retention of material as well as a new outlet for growth and development.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and make sure to follow my profile for upcoming classes.
I always offer financial support as well if needed. Please do not hesitate to ask, I want my classes to be accessible to everyone.
