Class Experience
Childhood anxiety can be crippling for children and distressing for parents. Having the opportunity to share their worries with others and find strength in unity can be profoundly helpful for children. In this course, we will focus on learning how and why worry happens and developing coping strategies that will help alleviate the symptoms of participants. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, experienced with therapeutic intervention with children in multiple private and group settings.
To deepen the impact of class work, homework sheets and projects will be assigned to students to work on during the week. The work does not need to be turned in. I will release videos for students to view each week, where I will go over that week's homework. Students will be most successful if parents are involved in this process.
Resources, including worksheets will be provided in a format that can be completed on a student's device, or printed to be used as a hard copy.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas. Although I am a behavioral health professional, please note that I cannot diagnose or treat mental illness through this course. However, I will provide resources and make recommendations if a child is experiencing difficulties beyond the scope of this class.
