Storytime and Art class. It’s no secret that reading to your child starting at a very young age is a good thing to do. Storytime is an excellent way to bond, it’ll boost vocabulary, stretch their attention span, Flex their imagination, plus, who doesn’t want to raise a book-lover?

During this Storytime class, students will have a short show and tell about their favorite stuffed animal or special toy,  listen to me read a book called Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! Words and pictures by Mo Willems by Scholastic, I will share the pictures from the book as we go through Storytime, then I will show the children how to complete simple fun craft projects step by step together. 

Students will learn creative skills, art skills, and listening skills (we will listen to Storytime with our "listening ears"). Then we will practice cutting, coloring, and gluing. Some assistance might be needed from parents for smaller learners as we complete a craft with the class. Learners are encouraged to talk during art time and interact with each other for social time. Students are encouraged to show their art projects, talk about the book, the weather etc..

No background knowledge is required as I will be reading the story.  It would be helpful if the children are familiar with using children's scissors and glue for craft time.  Some parent assistance may be needed during craft time if not.  Students are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal or special toy to class for a short show and tell at the beginning of class. I don't cancel classes if I only have one learner, In some cases if I have only one student we may get done a little bit early so I ask them to show me some of their favorite toys etc.
