*You don't need to own a dog for this class, it is for all dog lovers* *This is not a dog training class* In this class learners will be taught about how dogs think and communicate with humans and other dogs/animals. We will cover and discuss different behaviours in a dogs life cycle, and also how dogs express different emotions. We will look at video examples of more complicated dog behaviour, and discuss why it happens. I will share a story of specific dogs I've worked with in a dog...
Students will learn how to understand different dogs and develop a positive friendship with them.
Paper and pen/pencil if the student wishes to take notes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will show a very short clip of a dog displaying dominance (non violent/no biting) where one dog very briefly jumps on another dog, and the dog barks at him. We will discuss the body signals a dog shows when being defensive.
