40 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will begin the class by watching a short music video clip of Doc Mcstuffins' song "Time For Your Check-Up". The teacher will then read "Doc McStuffins: Doc is the Best Medicine!" and engage the students in a discussion about the events in the story. After reading the story, we will talk about what a doctor does and why they are important community helpers. We will talk what happens at a check up and the different tools the doctor uses (ex. the doctor measures with a scale and growth chart, listens to your heart beat with a stethoscope, check blood pressure with a pressure cuff). This will all be presented in a teacher created presentation which will show real life and Doc Mcstuffins pictures and clipart, as well as with various video clips. At the end of class, students will have the opportunity for Show and Tell. Students may show and tell a Doc McStuffin item or anything else that they would like to share.
