We will use video lectures that include an online whiteboard so students can see problems being worked out. During meetings we will have formative assessments where I can monitor student learning. Students will also be asked to work in groups at times to complete problem sets or in class activities (students can elect to work individually if they wish). I will be available for questions during the class meetings as well as during the week outside of class as students work on optional class assignments. We will go over topics tested on the AP Calculus AB exam including, concepts involving limits, derivatives and integrals. Here is a week by week list of topics we will cover Week of February 14th: Limits and Continuity Week of February 21st: More Limits Week of February 28th: Derivative Rules Week of March 7th: First and Second Derivative tests Week of March 14th: More Applications of Derivatives Week of March 21st: Related Rates Week of March 28th: Optimization Problems Week April 4th: Integral Rules Week April 11th: U substitution Week April 18th: Applications of Integrals Week of April 25th: Differential Equations My teaching style is based on the foundation of kindness, patience and encouragement, almost like a coach. I truly want my students to succeed! I take into account individual learning styles and make the difficult concepts surprisingly easy by explaining concepts in a way students today understand. As a Math tutor since 2010 and high school math teacher since 2017, I have learned that not every student learns the same way. Math can be difficult to grasp and at times teachers teach Math only one way. With Math it is all about the way you approach the problem and the methods you use to solve it. As a younger tutor and current teacher, I have an innovative approach to teaching Math concepts online in my own courses. I can teach your child the tricks of the trade and together we can watch your child succeed beyond their wildest dreams!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught AP Calculus AB before in a small group setting online. I am an experienced and award winning high school teacher as well as an experienced Calculus tutor for over 10 years. When I took the AP Calculus exam back when I was in high school I got a 5 on the exam (the highest possible grade) so I know what it takes to get a 5. Since then I have helped hundreds of students pass the exam.
We will also be using some technology tools that outschool has not approved yet. I use desmos as a online graphing calculator and encourage students to use it as well. Anything we use in class does not store any information about your student and does not require an account to use.
