Class Experience

In this class, we will cover the basic single crochet stitch, magic circle, how to use markers, and counting our stitches. We will also join multiple pieces to create a cute Snowman character using a pattern. I will also cover how to read a pattern using universal coding for the stitches.

Students will be encouraged to ask questions and converse with other students and the teacher on a casual basis as well as questions regarding the project(s).

I will demonstrate each stitch and technique using live and slides for each step of the lesson.

Students are not required to have any experience, however, experienced crafters are also encouraged to join us.

We will be creating a Snowman plush as well as creating some accessories.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Grace and I am very excited to meet and teach your child! I have over 24 years of experience working with children. I have a Bachelor's degree in Game Art and Design, focusing on Educational Content. I also have an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. I spent 8 years teaching English as a second language in Wiesbaden, Germany, and El Paso, Texas to children ages 0 to 13. I also homeschooled my children while we moved around the world as a military family. I like to use props, movement, games, or anything that helps the child to understand the concept in a fun and positive way!

When I am out of the classroom, I am spending time with my family playing games, building furniture, or working on craft projects. I love art and consider myself a Maker. If it is something I can create with my hands I can and WILL do it! I love art so much that when I lived in Germany I took the opportunity to visit as many museums as possible while studying Art History at the University of Maryland.

See you in the classroom!
